This week in APAC headlines, the Chinese government have launched a 3 year campaign to combat money laundering in a bid to safeguard national security, while Hong Kong's ICAC have charged 5 individuals with money laundering and defrauding investors of upwards of HKD$30m.

In news out of the United States, the SEC proposed a new set of regulations to bolster hedge fund & private equity fund disclosures, while the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau are preparing to crack down on what they have referred to as "junk fees", which include late payment charges, hotel fees and other miscellaneous expenses.

In European headlines, the United Kingdom's FCA are set to issue stricter regulations to financial services firms that provide high-risk investments, following growing consensus amongst senior regulators that a vast majority of retail investors do not understand the risks involved.
